How sweet it is to sing together in person! The photos below show us back in the summer of 2021 meeting new members "mask-to-mask" instead of virtually, singing songs we'd only ever done via Zoom, and saying "Hello" to our newest "youth member" of the chorus.
Jet Cities has always followed the King County and Washington State COVID guidelines during this crazy time. Currently this means that as of March 12, 2022, masks are optional at our rehearsals. If you are more comfortable with -- or without -- a mask, there will be no judgement on our part. You are also free to stand off to the side of the risers if that helps, too. Additionally, we offer a Zoom option for most of our rehearsals (sometimes sectionals and other activities prevent this option).
We understand numerous factors go into the "to mask or not to mask" decision for everyone. We will continuously monitor the situation and update our status as necessary; feel free to do the same for yourself.
If you are interested in attending one of Jet Cities' rehearsals -- either in person or virtually on Zoom -- visit our Contactpage and drop us a line. We'd love to see you one Monday night!
Spreading harmony
Jet Cities Chorus is a women’s chorus from the South Puget Sound area that sings 4-part a cappella harmony. We’re committed to having a diverse group of singers and supporting community activities, and we are passionate about singing and empowering women... even during a pandemic! If you want to be part of a sisterhood filled with music, laughter, support, and camaraderie, visit our Contact page and send us a message about attending one of our in-person or virtual rehearsals.
Member spotlights!
Have a look at our videos about some of the members of Jet Cities. Enjoy!
We did a thing!
During the quarantine brought on by COVID-19, Jet Cities has been having virtual rehearsals on Zoom. We've taken things a step further by making some virtual choir recordings of our own! To see the fun, final results, please visit our Media page.
Sharing the joy of singing
A Jet Cities VLQ (very large quartet!) spread some harmony one Saturday morning at Auburn Meadows Senior Living Community's Memory Unit. So much fun! The seven singers shared songs with the residents in attendance, plus got many of them involved in a sing-a-long!
If you think participating in activities like this would be fun, you're right! We invite you to visit a rehearsal and see what Jet Cities is all about. And then maybe one day YOU can do this, too.
55 years...and counting!
Jet Cities member Sue McBride was recognized at our annual convention for her 55 years of membership in Sweet Adelines International, all of them with Jet Cities!
Sue, who began singing with Jet Cities when she was...much younger...continues to be a very active member of our chorus. She frequently leads our physical warm-ups, has held offices and headed committees, and is a valued member of our chorus.
We're so proud of Sue for her many years of contributions to our chorus. Here's to many more!
Jet Cities Chorus welcomes women of any age, disability, ethnicity, gender expression, nationality, race, religion, and sexual orientation to visit a rehearsal and learn about our group. We are a talented women’s a cappella chorus that sings 4-part harmony in the barbershop style. Under the direction of Rachel Pack, each rehearsal is a lesson in vocal and performance skills, as well as creative opportunities in areas such as choreography, costume design, and show production. Leadership opportunities are available for members as well. Additionally, we are committed to both community involvement and regional competitions. Jet Cities Chorus is affiliated with Sweet Adelines International, a world-wide organization with which we share a passion for music and empowering women in every area of their lives. We encourage singers who want to be a part of a sisterhood filled with music, laughter, support, and camaraderie to come and visit a rehearsal soon.
